Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Dodo Media LLC, doing business as Fae (“Fae,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use fae.co, the Fae app, and Fae’s AI assistant (the “Service”). It is part of our Terms of Service.
The short version: your wedding is yours. We use your information to run Fae for you. We do not sell it, we do not show you ads, and we do not use your wedding content to train AI models.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Account information: your name, whether you’re the bride or the groom, your email address, and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider. If you continue with Google instead, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture; we never see your Google password, and we don’t get access to your Gmail, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
- Wedding information: dates, venues, vendors and their contact details, budgets (including your wedding fund: family support, savings, loans and gifts, and how much), payments, contracts, tasks, notes, schedules, seating, planning lists (such as flowers, item lists, songs and photo shot lists), inspiration photos and colors, files you upload, messages in your wedding’s chat, and who you said is planning with you. While you answer the setup questions, before you have an account, your answers stay in your own browser; they reach us when you create your account.
- Emails: vendor emails you forward to your wedding’s private Fae address or paste in, and replies vendors send to messages from Fae. Files attached to those emails, such as invoices, receipts, contracts and photos, are saved to your wedding’s Files.
- Guest information you add: names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, household, groups, whether each guest is an adult, child or baby, meal choices, dietary notes, plus-ones, wedding-party roles, and RSVP answers.
- Conversations with Fae’s AI assistant, and the suggestions you confirm or dismiss.
- Anything you send us when you contact us.
Information from guests. When a guest uses a couple’s RSVP link, we collect what they enter, such as their answer, meal choice, dietary notes, plus-one name, email address, and their answers for any other events the couple invites them to (a rehearsal dinner, say).
Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive a customer ID, your subscription status, and billing dates. We never receive or store your full card number. If your account started a free trial before October 19, 2026, we also remember when it ends, so it is used only once; we keep that date after you delete a wedding, until you delete your account.
Information collected automatically.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Your device’s time zone when you set up a wedding, saved as the wedding’s time zone so its times match your calendar. You can change it in setup or Settings.
- Error reports when something breaks (through Sentry), configured not to include your name, email address, form contents, or request bodies.
- Privacy-friendly usage statistics (through Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies), and simple counts of actions such as “account created” or “RSVP answered,” without your wedding content.
2. How we use information
- to provide the Service: store your plans, show them to the people you invite, and run its features;
- to power the AI assistant: reading your emails and documents to suggest tasks, deadlines, and amounts, answering your questions, and drafting replies;
- to send emails you ask for or expect: sign-in links, password resets, your wedding digest, notices about a free trial ending (for trials started before October 19, 2026), RSVP reminders to your guests (sent under your names), and messages and item list links to your vendors;
- if you set up a wedding but haven't subscribed, to send up to three reminders in the two weeks after, about the plan Fae made for you. Each has a link to stop them;
- to process payments and manage your subscription;
- to keep the Service secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems;
- to understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it;
- to comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
3. AI processing
To power the AI features, the relevant parts of your wedding information (for example an email you forwarded, a contract or invoice attached to it, or a question you asked) are sent to our AI providers, Anthropic and, as a backup, OpenAI. They process it to generate a response for you. Under their commercial API terms, they do not use it to train their models. We do not use your wedding content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.
4. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- People you invite. Your partner, planner, or others you invite can see your wedding according to their role.
- Your guests and vendors. A guest who uses your RSVP link sees only their own invitation. When the link is sent in a text or chat, its preview shows your names, your wedding date and, if you added one, your cover photo. Share links you create for a venue or caterer show only what that page is for and never include guest email addresses, phone numbers or mailing addresses. A link you share with a vendor from your item list shows your names, wedding date and location, and their part of the list: item names and how many, photos, where each thing goes, what it is for, details and notes, when things arrive and are picked up, and the names of the people and vendors who bring, lend, set up or take things. If you include the rest of the setup, which starts on for a venue or planner, the link also lists everything else on your item list and who sets it up. It never shows prices, or the email addresses and phone numbers saved for your guests and vendors. Anyone who has the link can open it, and you can stop sharing it at any time. Vendors see only the messages and links you send them.
- Your calendar app. If you turn on your private calendar link, anyone who has it, and the calendar app you add it to (such as Google Calendar or Apple Calendar), can see your appointments and the days tasks and payments are due, with payment amounts. It never includes guests. You can turn it off or replace it at any time.
- Service providers who process information for us under contract: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Anthropic and OpenAI (AI features), Resend (sending and receiving email), Stripe (payments), Sentry (error monitoring), and Google Maps (finding places and addresses: what you type in a place or address box is sent to Google to suggest matches, and we keep only the one you pick). If you continue with Google, Google handles that sign-in. When you search for a song on the Music page, what you type goes from your browser to Apple to find matches, and the album art and 30-second previews load from Apple each time; we keep only the song you pick.
- Legal reasons. When we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Fae.
- Business transfers. If Fae is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of it, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure, and a couple that remember how you like to see your tasks (a list or a board, everyone’s or only yours). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics does not use cookies. Because we do not track you across other websites, we do not respond differently to Do Not Track signals.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as your account or wedding exists. When you delete a wedding, it is removed from our live systems, and copies in our backups are overwritten within about 30 days. Server logs and error reports are kept for a limited time. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it, such as payment records.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls that keep each wedding visible only to its members, and rate limits on public pages. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
- You can see, correct, and update your wedding information in the app at any time.
- You can download a copy of everything in your wedding from Settings, or from Billing if your plan has ended. Your files themselves open and save from Files.
- You can delete a wedding from Settings, or from Billing if your plan has ended.
- You can turn off the wedding digest email in Settings.
- You can stop the reminders to subscribe with the “Stop these emails” link in any of them, without signing in.
- To delete your account or ask any privacy question, email contact@fae.co.
9. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request a copy of it; to ask us to delete or correct it; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither); to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide the Service); and not to be discriminated against for using these rights.
In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name and email address); customer records (such as billing status); commercial information (your subscription); internet activity (such as usage and log data); and sensitive personal information limited to account sign-in credentials. We collect them from you, from the people you invite, from your guests, and from your vendors’ emails, for the purposes in section 2, and disclose them only to the recipients in section 4.
To make a request, email contact@fae.co. We will verify your request by confirming that you control the email address on the account. You may use an authorized agent, who must show us your signed permission. California residents may also ask whether we share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not.
10. Guests, vendors and other people
If a couple has added your information to their wedding (for example as a guest or a vendor), they decide what to add and are responsible for it. You can ask them to change or remove it, or contact us at contact@fae.co and we will help.
11. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A couple may add minors to their guest list; that information is provided by the couple and used only for their wedding. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Where information is stored
Fae is operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be transferred to the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
14. Contact
Questions or requests about your privacy: contact@fae.co.
